A Food Diary
Operating as a video journal, A Food Diary, recorded approximately a year of grocery shopping in various supermarkets via a mobile phone. The conveyer belt functioned as an archiving canvas, representing the act of consumption, selection, taste, and contemporary food production in automated culture.
Containing attributes such as spontaneous dialogues, the beep of the barcode, and the code of conduct in the queue, produces a series of interactions that forms the narrative of the 1-hour long video piece. A Food Diary, was presented at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in 2016. A short excerpt of the video is presented here.
