An Archive of Audio Disobedience

With an enquiry into the notions of public and private within the networked culture, An Archive of Audio Disobedience intervenes into the regularity of the everyday, collaborating with participants to construct a live-event. Manifesting through a net-based sound archive, the event evolved into a collective form of sound-action, -publication, -demonstration, -performance, and -play, realised through single or group forms of human-computer interaction. The archive comprises various audio effects, sound segments, words, beats and tempos, and computer-generated speeches – to stage a critical symphony, rooted in and derived from, institutional and socio-political concerns. The most recent version of this project was presented at the NEoN Re@ct symposium programme 2019 in Dundee, Scotland. Photography by Katherine Rattary for NEoN Digital Arts Festival.
