MAP - Making / Equator Project
Equator Project was realised in 2008 during an eight-month collaboration with MAP/making group (MAP: Music, Art and Performance), a project co-founded by Prof. Dan Fern in 2000. MAP/making was a collaborative project between moving-image artists from the Royal College of Art with musicians from the Guildhall School.
Equator Project was manifested as a reflection to studies suggesting the development of irregular movements and abnormal augmentation of seismic waves as geological and environmental responses to climate change.
The music was written and composed by Emily Hall and was performed live at the event alongside the moving-image. The work was screened in LSO St Luke's alongside other projects forming an hour long live video music performance. Thanks to Sophie Clements for managing the visual effect coordination. To get access to the whole documentation of the performance please contact the Visual Communication department at Royal College of Art.
